Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc. provided design services for the new campus for Pasco-Hernando Community College. The building is the second new PHSC campus designed by Florida Architects, Inc. (FLA). The project included a seven-story facility with a classroom facility, auditorium and library, staff and administrative offices, and student common areas, all supported on three levels of parking. The design was completed using Building Information Modeling (BIM) Technology. Provisions for Enhanced Hurricane Protection Areas (EHPA) were designed for the Administration and Multipurpose Buildings. The roof and wall structure selection is designed to be functional and to enhance the artistic elements of the architecture. The goal was to find the most economical and creative structural solutions so more of the budget could be spent enhancing the learning environment.
