Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc. provided Structural design services for the new Vehicle Maintenance Facility located at Hurlburt Field, Florida. This $6,100,000.00, 32,346 square foot facility was designed to maintain the general and special-purpose vehicles used in support of the Red Horse Mission. The facility includes 10 drive-through maintenance bays capable of servicing two vehicles at one time. Specialty bays allow for servicing vehicles that measure up to 80 feet and include provisions for tracked vehicles.

Maintenance bays include two overhead bridge cranes, two hydraulic vehicle lifts, and power, air and vehicle exhaust systems. Support facilities include workshops and two storage rooms, and administration. Personnel support facilities include laundry, break rooms, and latrines and showers. Office and staff support area are softened in both material and scale to complement the change of activities and purpose.
