| Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc. has provided the University of South Alabama with a variety of Design/Bid, infrastructure improvements at their main campus in Mobile, Alabama. One of these improvements consisted of the replacement of one of the campus physical plant boilers with plans to retrofit the existing boiler. One of the existing boilers had ceased to function and was replaced with a new 700-horsepower gas-fired scotch marine boiler that incorporated new burner controls to interface with the main plant controls in order to more fully automate the functions of the main plant hot water production. This will have the effect of reducing plant operating costs due to closer management of the hot water supply temperature to more closely trend with the actual campus demand for hot water. |
