Pasco County is located in the Midwest region of Florida, positioned between Hernando County to the north and Hillsborough County to the south. Pasco County has a population of over 344,765 and is steadily growing. There are over 45,000 students enrolled in grades K-12 in the Pasco County School District. The District consists of 43 elementary schools, 14 middle schools, and 15 high schools.

Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc. began its relationship with the district in 2007 and is currently providing Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, and Communications design services for two new school projects: the new Elementary School ‘R’ (110,000 square feet) in the Connerton Development Area and the new High School ‘EEE’ (250,000 square feet) in the Hudson Area.

The new high school consists of five buildings centered around a large, enclosed courtyard. Three of these buildings (administration/media center and two classroom wings) will be two-story. The classroom wings and the cafeteria are to be Enhanced Hurricane Protection Areas (EHPA).
