Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc. has provided specialized design solutions for military support facilities including warehouses, training facilities, data centers, operations facilities, educational centers, laboratories, maintenance facilities, hangars, fire rescue stations, dormitories, air traffic control towers, and many others. We are familiar with the unique DOD Construction Standards and have operated in many construction arrangements from Fast Track to Design/Bid to Design/Build to Design with Construction Management. We have also developed Bridging Documents for DOD Design/Build projects.

Mechanical systems designed for military support facilities have included high efficiency central utility plants, variable volume hot and chilled water distribution systems, and redundant computer room cooling systems. Electrical systems have included medium voltage power distribution, building lighting and power systems, and fault-tolerant power systems and controls for secure data centers. The primary design objectives for these systems included reliability, energy efficiency, low life cycle cost, and ease of maintenance.

Our Communications department has designed critical and secure voice and data systems for military support facilities. Our team has worked closely with various bases across the Southeast to provide structured cabling, television, audio-visual, access control, intrusion detection, and camera surveillance systems to meet their specific needs and requirements.

Our Structural team is dedicated to providing our clients with designs that emphasize safety, performance, and efficiency of the structural systems. Our knowledge of material and construction types gives us the ability to produce designs that reduce cost and simplify construction. Our approach is to provide economical solutions to progressive collapse and anti-terrorism issues. We enjoy the challenge of designing special training and research structures.
