Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc. provided Electrical and Communications design services for the new, state-of-the-art $10.1 million, 82,827 square foot Gorenflo Elementary School located in Biloxi, Mississippi. The school was designed to replace outdated buildings. By incorporating distinctive exterior design elements reflective of the surrounding neighborhood, the school was given its own unique identity while maximizing the school district’s budget. The design incorporates a unique "pod" concept in which classrooms of individual grades are arranged around common project areas, thus encouraging interaction between students of different grade levels.
