Fort Polk is a United States Army base located near Leesville, Louisiana. Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc. provided Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Protection, and Communications design services for the $10 million, two-story Educational Center and 48,218 square foot Consolidated Library located there.
The
facility has a single point of entry that serves as a vestibule for both
facilities. The educational center includes a lecture hall, classrooms;
VTC classrooms; seminar rooms; science, language, and computer labs; testing
observations room; toilet facilities; and storage rooms. The library facility
consists of a Librarian's office; staff lounge; toilet and locker areas;
a children's area; and multi-media, reference, and reading rooms.
